چکیده

Background: Distal tibial fractures are a common injury, often caused by high-energy trauma, and can result in significant morbidity. Traditional surgical management with open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) is associated complications including infection soft tissue injury. Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) has emerged as potential alternative, advantages less injury faster return to function. The study aimed evaluate the outcomes of MIPO for distal fractures. Method: Sample size 38 patients between 18-80 years age treated was included. Patient demographics, fracture characteristics, details postop collected. Results: A total tibia mean 44.36 were included study. duration hospital stay 12.71 days, time required union 18.61 weeks. AOFAS score improved significantly from 3 6 months after surgery. However, 15 (34.88%) reported complications, deep skin necrosis being most common. Out 43 patients, 11 underwent culture sensitivity testing, no growth 5 cases, remaining cases showed various bacterial infections. Seven implant removal due complications. Conclusions: provides valuable information about use treating fractures, well risk this approach.

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis for distal tibial fractures.

PURPOSE To review the outcomes of 53 patients who underwent minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) for distal tibial fractures. METHODS Medical records of 31 men and 22 women aged 22 to 78 (mean, 51) years who underwent MIPO using a locking compression plate for distal tibial fractures of the left (n=28) and right (n=25) legs with or without intra-articular extension were reviewed. ...

Effectiveness of Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis (MIPO) on Comminuted Tibial or Femoral Fractures

Background: Comminuted fractures happen frequently due to traumas. Fixation without opening the fracture site, known as minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO), has recently become prevalent. This study has beendesigned to assess the outcomes of this treatment for tibial and femoral comminuted fractures. Methods: A total of 60 patients with comminuted femoral or tibial fractures were opera...

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis for tibial plateau fractures.

PURPOSE To evaluate radiological and clinical outcome of minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) for tibial plateau fractures. METHODS 35 men and 6 women aged 19 to 75 (mean, 40; standard deviation [SD], 14) years underwent MIPO for displaced tibial plateau fractures. According to the Schatzker system, the tibial plateau fractures were classified as types I (n=3), II (n=9), III (n=11),...

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis for distal radius fractures

BACKGROUND Fractures of distal radius are common injury in all age groups. Cast treatment with or without close reduction is a viable option. However, the results are often unsatisfactory with restricted function. The open reduction and internal fixation often results in extensive soft tissue dissection and associated high rates of infect and delayed/nonunion. The distractor/external fixator ha...

Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis for Distal Tibia Fractures.

Surgical treatment of distal tibia fractures can present as a difficult task. Intramedullary nailing (IMN), external fixation, and open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) have displayed various complications ranging from a high rate of knee morbidity with IMN to wound complications and infection with ORIF. Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) has been used to decrease development of t...
